Job title: Graduate/Under-Graduate Accountant

Hours: Full time is 37.5 hours per week (sometimes more are required due to work demands). Part time is pro rated with a minimum of 3 days or 22.5 hours.

Location: Orange office.

Purpose of the position

To support the team leaders and other members of the pmwBusinessCentre in producing high quality work to our clients.

Also responsible for advancing the overall firm vision and mission by:

  • being responsive to team members’ requests,
  • being client focused and resourceful,
  • delivering work within expected time frames and budgets,
  • meeting productivity expectations,
  • contributing to continuous quality improvement and innovation, and
  • showing commitment to the firm, fellow employees and clients.

Responsibilities and duties

Responsibility 1 – To support the Team Leaders and other members of the pmwBusinessCentre in providing clients with excellent and effective customer service.

Responsibility 2 – To complete tasks as directed by team members. Tasks may include, but not limited to:

  • preparation of financial statements and income tax returns,
  • preparation of BAS and IAS,
  • bookkeeping tasks,
  • processing of data files using Xero and other accounting packages.

This requires regularly communicating with team members and ensuring the timely completion of work within budgets.

Responsibility 3 – To participate in training and continuous improvement projects within the firm and continue your professional development externally.

Academic and trade qualifications

Essential qualifications:

  • enrolment in accounting degree and successful completion of at least one year.

Desirable qualifications:

  • Graduate Diploma,
  • Xero certified (or similar).

Work experience and skills

Essential experience:

  • successful completion of at least one year of an accounting degree or diploma.

Desirable skills:

  • proficient in Microsoft suite,
  • experience using cloud accounting software.
